COVID-19 has changed the way we see and live in our world. We have felt in danger to get out of our home and to be in touch with other human beings. This is slowly getting easier to live and cope with, but we're still worried about our survival, and we've come to recognize the new heroes behind our safety and well-being.
It is natural to recognize the work of doctors, nurses and organizations that are keeping us safe, but what about our cleaners? Thanks to the outstanding work our cleaners have been performing for the past few months, if you've been getting out of your home to work, or even do the groceries, chances are you have avoided being in touch with the virus more than once, thanks to the throrough and constant cleaning of surfaces that is being ensured by hard-working people in the cleaning industry.
What is the Thank Your Cleaner Day?
According to the official Thank Your Cleaner Day website, "the Thank Your Cleaner Day is a chance to say “Thank You!” for everyone working in a facility that is cleaned by professional cleaners. This could be office buildings, factories or public buildings like schools. People can thank their cleaner by leaving them a note, giving them a little gift or just saying “Thank you!”"
It started in New Zealand in 2015 by the local trade organization for Building Services Contractors (BSCNZ) in cooperation with Kärcher.
Today, many countries worldwide have adopted this day as an official date, including Aregntina, Australia, Belgium, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Spain, Ghana, Guyana, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, Poland, Singapore, Trinidad, UK and USA.
Whether your company has celebrated this day in the past or not, it's never too late to acknowledge your cleaners' hard work and dedication!
Happy Thank Your Cleaner Day!
